Who's Ready for Some Football?!

Hallelujah! The NFLPA has voted, and accepted, the new CBA. Last step? It goes to a final vote for each team representative.Long story short: life in the NFL starts again tomorrow (picture me jumping for joy). The past few posts I've made have been brief explainers to the lockout, and as I previously mentioned, normal NFL pre-season processes begin immediately. Everything kicks off tomorrow, when teams can sign their rookies (more details here). Things will slowly start moving throughout this week - roster changes, official transaction requests, etc, but the next big date to know is August 4th. This is the deadline for recertification and ratification of the CBA by the players. There are still a few loose ends - especially with the active players/NFLPA and with retired players. DeMaurice Smith has committed to fixing any broken bonds, which is a good start. It's also a good feeling to hear Peyton Manning talk about wanting to "get back to work" and the situation with the antitrust lawsuit against the NFL.

The bottom line? We have football, people! Get ready...the seaons is coming.

Until next time...
